Other Blackeye Software Games

Blackeye Software was the studio that Jon Perry and I started in the 90’s to release our games under. Eternal Daughter is our best known game, but we made a lot over the years.

Diabolika II

Type: Puzzle

Year: 2003

Language: C++/Allegro Game Library

Version: 1.666

Download: diabolika2.zip (443 kb)

Diabolika 2 is the semi-sequel to an older game that I made. It’s a puzzle game where you set up chain reactions to blow up demons.

Gamehippo: “This game is well worth a play for puzzle enthusiasts. In fact, Diabolika is so simple and fun that even people who are not fans of puzzle games are likely to enjoy it.” (Rating: 8/10)

Mean Cuisine

Type: Arcade

Year: 2003

Language: C++

Version: 1.0

Download: mc.zip (2.23 mb)

A little arcade-type game I made to teach myself DirectX programming. In the game you play Poo, a hungry little alien. Eat up all the food and then belch on the humans that are after you!

Home of the Underdogs: “…as a coffee-break title Mean Cuisine provides plenty of fun - 10-15 minutes at a time. Recommended!” (Top Dog)

Trigger Happy 2 Demo

Type: Action/Stealth

Year: 1999

Language: Multimedia Fusion

Version: Alpha

Trigger Happy 2 was the biggest project Jon and I had attempted at the time - a top-down action game that was very much inspired by Metal Gear Solid. Our original idea spanned around a half-dozen levels, and took you all around the world, from frozen tundras to hidden military bases. You controlled the ubiquitous secret agent / genetic experiment / cold-blooded killer Second Silver.

We released a demo for the game in which you had to sneak into the mansion of the corrupt Senator Pilsken (Plissken?) and off him. The mission itself was pretty free form, and featured a lot of little details that enamored the demo to our small group of fans. Unfortunately, neither Jon nor I were feeling so hot for the project after awhile and abandoned it in favor of Eternal Daughter. Which was a good decision, I think!

Snowbrawl

Type: Arcade

Year: 2000

Language: Multimedia Fusion

Version: 1.0

Download: snowbrawl.rar (1.2 mb)

The name and screenshots probably speak for themselves. In between “waves” you can build walls and lay traps to help defend yourself against your antagonists. There’s also a co-op version included (I’m not sure why it’s a separate executable).

Snowbrawl has a tough time running on modernish computers (i.e. anything that isn’t the hand-me-down you gave to grandma), due to some color issues.
